Newly Appointed Headteacher

Dear Parents/Carers,

I am delighted to introduce myself to you as the new Headteacher of Nether Stowe School. As an experienced headteacher, senior leader and educator, I bring with me over 24 years of experience gained within a range of schools within Birmingham, Solihull, and more recently in the South West, where I successfully led a school through a journey of significant improvement, resulting in a very positive Ofsted inspection and more importantly, improved pupil outcomes. I am passionate about enhancing pupils’ life chances and I particularly enjoy working in smaller than average sized schools, where every child can be known by name, their individual needs understood and their progress closely monitored, so that they have every chance of success, afforded by a well-rounded education.

My hopes for the pupils of Nether Stowe are no less – I want all pupils to feel a sense of belonging and pride whilst they are with us. I want them to experience a relevant and rich educational experience both in and beyond the classroom, and I want them to leave us with good academic outcomes, a strong moral compass  and strength of character – as these will be their passport to a bright future ahead.

To achieve this aim, we will need to work as a collective. In leading the next chapter of Nether Stowe School I look forward to working the students, staff body and with yourselves, the community, to hear your views, so that together we can ensure that all our young people have the best chance of achieving their full potential, amidst a backdrop of high academic and personal standards.

The education climate is ever evolving, with a new Government at the helm and changes to the inspection regime in the pipeline, and a now new headteacher!  I know change can be daunting for some, but one thing that remains constant is that children have only one chance at their schooling – and together we must ensure that our young people attend school regularly, make the most of every opportunity afforded to them and work hard to achieve success.

I very much look forward to meeting you and getting to know you all in the coming months, as we embark on this journey together.

With very best wishes
